The Sounds of Spring

The Sounds of Spring

I've never been a super "floral-y" person in general, though every once in awhile a spring honeysuckle or island orchid really get me.

So when it came time to create new candle scents for spring, I decided to bypass the straight florals and instead try to recreate what makes spring magical to me - it's the time of year when we are getting back outside, the sun stays out longer, the windows begin to open, and there's a hopeful buzz in the air. Okay maybe that's just the spring peeper frogs in my pond, but if you need some ambient noise, there is nothing better!

While most of the six new scents available for spring do have a floral twist or two, the collection is really a mix of sunshine, celebration, chill, and of course the great outdoors. To really lean into the mood, I thought it would be fun to share a Sounds of Spring playlist for some inspiration - one song to set the mood for each scent.

Enjoy!

Cheers
Song: Cut to the Feeling by Carly Rae Jepsen

Carly Rae Jepsen is so much more than "Call Me Maybe", and this song proves it. It's the ultimate jam for late night dance parties and invokes such a free, celebratory mood, perfect for letting loose and poppin' the prosecco!

Firepit Nights
Song: Back Down South by Kings of Leon

I don't wear cowgirl boots or go shooting like the people in this music video for my favorite Kings of Leon deep track "Back Down South", but this whole vibe is everything when it comes to a chill night outside with friends. The Friday Night Lights style cinematography is just the cherry on top.

Good Hair Day
Song: Good as Hell by Lizzo

Good Hair Day smells just like a salon-fresh blow out, seriously. But the point is not about a blow out. It's about pampering yourself however you need to in order to feel your very best, so what better song than this? Time for a spring refresh because you deserve it.

Happy Camper
Song: Peach Fuzz by Caamp

I didn't pick this song just because the band's name is Caamp. But I do love this song for its indie rock sunshine quality that has a distinct earthy feel, too.

Main Squeeze
Song: Mr. Brightside by The Killers

Nothing describes Main Squeeze as well as the word "bright". So naturally it's a perfect match with this absolute classic from my college years.

Vintage Vinyl
Song: Dreams by Fleetwood Mac

There's not really a lot that has to be said for this one. Arguably the GOAT, "Dreams" from the legendary Rumours album hits you with a 70s vibe that instantly soothes your soul.

BONUS TRACK:

Spring Peeper ambiance to lull you to sleep. I'm telling you, one of my favorite sounds on Earth.
