Let's Have the Best Fall Ever

Let's Have the Best Fall Ever

I think we could all use something good to look forward to right now. For me, that's fall. I tried so hard to love on summer as long as I could, but it's August now, so I'm leaning in after some unseasonably cool days here in Massachusetts. What I'm most looking forward to: that first firepit of the year, watching my favorite horror movie that I've already seen hundreds of times (what's your favorite scary movie?), a long night drive when the leaves are starting to change, classic tunes on the radio, pumpkin everything, duh!, and "oversized sweatshirt required" weather.

This year I poured all of that and more into one collection and gave it the only name that fit: Best Fall Ever. The collection is my lineup of fall candles inspired by New England autumns, Halloween nights, '90s fall, coastal days, and all the little things that make this season so damn good. This collection will launch August 21!

As you already know, everything is 100% soy, hand-poured in small batches in my studio in Plymouth, MA. Clean fragrances, no extra crap. The test burns on this collection have produced literally some of the strongest throwing candles ever! This makes me thrilled for cozy season.

But we all know that there is no one perfect version of fall, so this collection has a little something for everyone. Let's get into it.

The Best Classic Fall Candles

You already know. Pumpkins, apples, leaves, all with the Pipe Dream spin.

Orchard Donut
Hot fried dough, brown sugar, and cinnamon.

This may be the truest 'piping hot fresh donut' smell out there, and there's a reason it's one of the top 3 selling candles every fall. It's completely delectable, and it's definitely the candle you want burning in your kitchen this autumn. There's a subtle apple note in there, but the stars are really the brown sugar, cinnamon, and fried dough which differentiates it a bit from other cider donut scents which are very sweet apple forward.
People go absolutely gaga over this one every fall.

(NEW!) Perfect Fall Day

Fresh-pressed pear cider mulled with apples, cinnamon, clove, and nutmeg, finished with a caramel drizzle.

I actually got a sample of this fragrance last fall, made a test candle, and forgot about it until my husband and I moved to our new house and we needed a little comfort while living out of boxes. I randomly pulled this out of my stash and lit it up, and it literally filled my whole house in minutes! When I tell you it's mouthwatering, I mean really mouthwatering. And I'm not even really a cider girly, but for this candle I will be.

Now I did struggle coming up with a name for it that didn't just imply spiced cider because it really is more than your basic cider candle. Ultimately, I closed my eyes and asked myself "what does this smell like?" And the answer that came to be was literally Perfect Fall Day. To me it's a crisp and sunny day spent with good friends at a local brewery or cider mill, enjoying the fresh press outside while the sun is still warm but the air is already cool. Maybe some dogs and kids are running around while you laugh and chill in good company. It's a total vibe.

Pumpkin Fluff
Baked pumpkin, marshmallow fluff, and vanilla bean

I have nothing against pumpkin spice, but I figure you can get that just about anywhere already. I just wanted to take pumpkin somewhere else, and so I put a classic New England spin on it by incorporating legendary Marshmallow Fluff, which originated right here in Massachusetts over 100 years ago.

One of my top two fall sellers every year, Pumpkin Fluff is sweet and cozy, and goes well with both classic fall and Halloween aesthetics.

Moody Fall Candles

Not everyone wants a sweet treat, pumpkin, or cider candle. Let's take it to the outdoors with these beautiful moody blends.

Leaves & Late Nights
Cool night air, palo santo, crushed acorns and leaves

A late-night autumn drive with your crush, windows cracked. Awesome tunes playing. This one leans slightly masculine due to the palo santo and woods notes, which is a nice switch up from bakery sweets, but those crushed acorns and leaves make it an undeniably autumnal scent.

October Rain
Wet leaves, cedar, and nutmeg

October Rain is back by popular demand for all of who just crave a moody October day watching the rain come down with a up of tea, a good book, and a candle lit of course! Another custom blend that I am super proud of - you will really get 'wet leaves' here and the scent of rain-soaked pavement, but with the depth of autumnal earthiness from cardamom, coriander, nutmeg and woods. October Rain has been subtly reimagined from its original release to remove the spiced apple notes (got enough of that around here) and really amp up the moody factor.

Fall Candles for Horror Lovers

Lately, horror movies have been recategorized as "cozy". I get it, I really do. I love horror myself, and there's nothing I love more than getting cozy on the couch with some fall snacks and the lights off watching Laurie Strode face off with Michael Myers for the umpteenth time. If you are into classic slasher films and other spooky vibes, read on.

(NEW!) Final Girl
autumn plum, woodsmoke, metallic

The aforementioned Laurie. Sidney. The icons. They're the ones who make to the end credits. Tapping into girly horror without escaping the slasher danger, Final Girl is a new custom blend of dark plum and juicy berry, like a body splash perhaps, over woodsmoke notes from the inferno she escaped, and something cold and sharp underneath that, like a blade maybe. Fun, flirty, and frightening - this one is killer!

(NEW!) Haunted Hayride
spiced pumpkin and cinnamon, dried hay, wagon wood

Growing up, my dad would always take me and my friends to the Haunted Hayrides held at Marshfield Fair. It was my absolute favorite thing to do during Halloween time! I loved how chilly it was, the classic pumpkin decorations, and riding on hay bales through a haunted forest. This one is an ode to that.

For all my true pumpkin spice lovers, this is the one you want. Though it's like pumpkin spice's cooler, older, witchier cousin.

Spooky Beach - reimagined and better than ever!
coastal fog, pink pepper, lavender aquatic notes, and sandalwood

New England coastal horror is having a big moment, so it was the perfect time to re-imagine Spooky Beach away from tropical coconuts and into something really atmospheric. Think sunset cocktails along a haunted shore, fog rolling in, the local sea hag watching from the rocks. Another very strong fragrance throw.

'90s Fall Candles

The 90s are certainly back en vogue, not that I'm complaining. Nostalgia is everything, and sometimes when we want to look forward to something good, it involves reminiscing about happier times. These are the candles I think scratch that itch!

Autumn Flannel
vanilla bean, clove, campfire, and wool

Always a staple for fall. A 'bonfire' scent without being too bonfirey. The nod to 90s grunge flannel kicks everything up a notch. Without fail, I light this on the first crisp day of the season, open my windows, and do that fall deep clean/decor switchover.

Surfside Sunflowers
sunflowers + salt air

A sunny yellow, quintessential and nostalgic 90s scent for when summer transitions to fall. This one makes me thing of two very specific things: The iconic Elizabeth Arden perfume (but with a coastal twist of course), and the homes of Capeside decorated for fall.

Surfside Sunflowers surprised many of you last year and it sold out. If your formative fall involved a choker, a flannel tied around your waist, and a drugstore fragrance you can still smell, this is your candle.

Vintage Halloween - last year's #1 seller across all seasons!
fallen leaves, October night air, mushy apples, and maple sugar

Another storytime. I was born in the 80s and grew up trick-or-treating in the 90s. There was a very distinct smell to my neighborhood on Halloween night, something truly magical. First of all, ~back in my day ~ Halloween used to be chilly, so you started with that cool night air smell. Then, my parents had a crabapple tree in the backyard that all the neighborhood squirrels would steal for their own treats. Those apples ended up being mushed up into the dead leaves in the yard - so  now you're getting dead musty leaves, rotten apple, and dirt ALL IN THE BEST WAY POSSIBLE. And finally, that candy bag smell. You know, when the Reese's mix with the Starbursts and the Tootsie Rolls stick to M&Ms. Yup.

That's what this is. Trick-or-treating in the 90s, and it literally makes me tear up every time I smell it.

🍂

If you made it this far, I applaud you. I could not be more excited to have the BEST FALL EVER with you!

Dream On,
Lindsay
